Summer work outfits: how to dress for the office on hot days?
Although the modern work dress code is already the most liberal in history, many professions still have certain formal or informal restrictions. The most challenging question remains summer attire: how to dress for the office on hot days to maintain professional style without overheating? We asked the stylists working with Anataka.

How to wear a blazer to the office in summer?
In some professions, formal dress code requires wearing a blazer to work every day. And in the summer? We recommend linen blazers —darker ones look very formal even with a plain T-shirt; lighter ones are worth pairing with a shirt or a more formal blouse. A lyocell blazer is also interesting ; simply hang it on a hanger after washing to prevent it from wrinkling, say our stylists. Such a blazer can be worn in many different ways, not just for the office:
- for the dress,
- for jeans,
- for cigarillos,
- for suit trousers,
- and even shorts.
Lovers of British university style, on the other hand, wear such a jacket over… a sweater in the fall.
Summer Work Pants – What Works?
For years, skinny jeans and tight suit trousers dominated fashion, which aren't ideal for hot weather. Therefore, we encourage you to return to wide-leg suit trousers – in summer, made from natural, noble fabrics like linen. Here are some styling secrets:
- To make them look elegant, it is worth pairing them with a more formal top (jacket or shirt).
- If the cut of wide-leg work trousers is very loose, the "top" can fit closer to the body so that the whole thing still has an "office" character.
- Stripes are a motif that is unmistakably associated with formal fashion, making them perfect for the office instead of floral patterns.
- If in doubt, it is worth choosing luxurious Vasari trousers - even a T-shirt looks noble with them.
Dresses that don't reveal too much in the summer

Summer is the time when you can finally pull out those long-forgotten dresses and enjoy them every day at the office. Not always, though, as sheer details or bare shoulders are frowned upon in banks or government offices. Floor-length dresses don't fit the official aesthetic either. So what to wear? Below are a few ideas spotted during Anataka's photoshoot (more inspiration in our "office" lookbook ).
- A knee-length dress with a wrap neckline is perfect for any office – it changes character depending on the shoes and jacket worn over it.
- The secret to finding a dress that works well for work is the right size and cut. Those in the Anataka catalog—collection?—are measured on three models with different body shapes to avoid unexpected gathers, sheers, and necklines.
-
If the dress is above the knee , it should be in muted colors and made of noble fabrics.
When talking about summer office fashion, it's impossible to forget about accessories. They're what keep casual summer attire from being formal.

P.S. Our office wardrobe hack
Finally, a piece of advice that adds an office touch even to jeans and a regular sweatshirt. I'm talking about a vest, of course! Striped models with a linen blend, like the Sigma or Lars , are no longer available. This vest is worth having in your car this summer. If the occasion calls for a more formal outfit, you can always throw it on over your clothes and... voila!
